When to use it
You need one when applications arrive through three different channels and nobody knows which CV belongs to which email. One form puts everything in a single table, with the attachment stuck to the right row.
Three things that help
- Ask for the CV, not a cover letter: cover letters get written in ten minutes and all read the same.
- Put the open question last and make it specific («something you built and are proud of»): generic questions collect generic answers.
- Turn on the receipt to the respondent: an applicant who gets nothing back will email you three days later to ask if it arrived.
