When to use it
You need one wherever you collect addresses: at the end of an article, in a popup, on a dedicated page. The difference between a list that works and one that lands in spam is almost always consent — having it, and being able to show it.
Three things that help
- Use the Consent question type: what was accepted and when stays on the record, which is what you need if anyone disputes it.
- Only ask about interests if you actually segment: a question you don't use costs signups and gives you nothing.
- Embed as a popup or side tab: an inline form at the bottom of the page is only seen by people who reach the bottom.
