When to use it
The trouble with «contact us for a quote» is that requests arrive needing three emails before you know what they're about. The right four questions are the difference between a request and a quote.
Three things that help
- Ask for budget as ranges, not a number: nobody writes a number, almost everybody picks a range.
- Include «I don't know yet» among the budget options: without it, people who don't know abandon instead of guessing.
- Put the deadline before the price list: half of all requests qualify themselves on timing, not on cost.
